Care Instructions
With the right care, your abayas and burqas stay beautiful for years. Always check the label on your piece—specific fabrics may need extra attention.
General washing
Turn garments inside out, especially if they have embroidery or trims. Use cold water and a mild detergent. Avoid bleach and fabric softener on delicate weaves unless the label allows it. Do not wring—gently squeeze out water and reshape before drying.
Drying & ironing
Hang on a padded or wide hanger, or lay flat for heavy or embellished pieces. Use a cool iron or steamer; test an inside seam first. For sheer or synthetic blends, a pressing cloth helps prevent shine marks.
Storage
Store clean, fully dry garments in a cool, dry place. Long abayas benefit from breathable garment bags. Avoid tight folds on delicate trims; use tissue at creases if folding for travel.
Embellished & layered pieces
Hand wash or use a delicate cycle in a mesh bag. Fasten any closures before washing. For burqas with multiple layers, shake out and hang immediately after washing to reduce creasing. When in doubt, dry cleaning may be safest—ask us if you are unsure about a specific fabric.
